Imee Marcos, Ping Lacson urge gov't. to learn from South Korea in boosting Phil. movies, TV & music

Ex-Sen. Ping Lacson, Sen. Imee Marcos & Kamuning Bakery Cafe owner Wilson Lee Flores hold biggest Pandesal to celebrate "World Pandesal Day". They gave 100,000 Free Pandesal & other foods to urban poor families, also orphanages in Metro Manila, etc. Oct. 16 is also UN's World Food Day. 


In the Pandesal Forum before distributing free Pandesal, Imee Marcos and Ping Lacson urged government to emulate the world-famous success of South Korean movies, TV shows and pop music, by the Philippine government truly giving strong support to cgrative industries and lowering the now too high taxes on Philippine movies. They both said that Philippine movies, TV shows and music should be exported globally not allow to suffer. Flores even proposed the Philippines copy from South Korea and China which limit the number and schedules of foreign film imports, so that they could support and nurture their South Korean and Chinese film industries. 



Imee Marcos also happily reminisced about young Vilma Santos acting her role in a 1960s Marcos family movie and the latest actress to play her was Christine Reyes. Ping Lacson also mentioned that Filipino actors who played his role in movies included now Senator Robin Padilla and the late Rudy Fernandez. Both Imee and Ping said they admire Filipino movies and enjoy relaxations by watching films. 



Kamuning Bakery Cafe on Oct. 11 also donated a public schoolbuilding to Sinait Integrated School in Tarlac province as part of this annual civic & cultural project to honor the uniquely Filipino bread Pandesal and to highlight need to solve problem of global hunger. Pres. Bongbong Marcos, VP Sara Duterte and other leaders also expressed support for World Pandesal Day.
