NILALANG, OFFICIAL ENTRY OF MMFF 2015




Synopsis

The story tells of Tony – an NBI agent hot on the trail of a series of rapes and killings that counts, among them, Tonys girlfriend, Tin.

With his co-agent, Jane, they follow leads that take them to a meeting with Miyuki, the daughter of Mr. Kazudo – an elder member of the Yakuza.

Together, they come face-to-face with an enemy that transcends time; and leaves a trail of mindless, cold-blooded crime at its wake.


Pasukin ang mundo ni Tony – isang NBI agent na iniimbistigahan ang sunod-sunod na karumal-dumal na panggagahasa at pagpatay; kabilang na ang sa babaeng minamahal niya na si Tin.

Kasama ang partner niyang si Jane, dadalhin sila ng mga pangyayari sa isang pakikitagpo kay Miyuki, babaeng anak ni Mr. Kazudo – isang nakatatandang miyembro ng Yakuza.

Magkasanib-pwersa, makikipag-engkwentro sila sa isang kalaban na hindi basta-basta humuhupa at hindi napipigilan sa paghasik ng lagim, krimen, at kamatayan.

Cesar Montano as Tony

Montano stars as Tony Cuevas – an NBI Agent hot on the trail of a series of rapes and killings in Manila.

In his quest to solve the case of the killings, he crosses paths with the Yakuza underworld but, eventually, discovers a more formidable adversary.

Montano is one of the most versatile, critically acclaimed, and bankable actors in Philippine cinema.

A sought-after leading man, it was Jose Rizal (1998) – the film about the Philippinesnational hero – that proved to be Montanos breakout performance; earning him his first Best Actor award in the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Having created an impressive body of work in local film and television since then, Montano was cast opposite Benjamin Bratt in the Hollywood film, The Great Raid (2005).

Montano has also proven himself as a director. In 2004, he produced, starred, and directed the film, Panaghoy sa Sugba (The Call of the River), which won Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director in local and international film festivals.

The film was also invited for exhibition in the Cannes Film Festival in 2005.

Maria Ozawa as Miyuki

Ozawa plays Miyuki – daughter of an elder Yakuza leader based in Manila.

Beautiful and with everyone at her beck and call, little does she know that her family is akin to a dark secret that spans generations.

Ozawa swept into every males consciousness by through her iconic career in the adult video (AV) industry.

Born to a Japanese father and French-Canadian mother, Ozawa broke into the AV industry in 2005 with the video, New Face – Number One Style. Since then she has starred in numerous videos which has spawned a cult following.

In 2010, Ozawa retired from the AV industry to pursue more serious acting.

A visit to the Manila radio show, Boys Night Out, in April 2015 proved instrumental in casting Ozawa in a mainstream film. After expressing interest to star in a film in the Philippines, she was offered the female lead for Nilalang (Entity).

Pedring Lopez, Director & Writer

Made a name in the advertising industry as a commercial director sought-after for his creative vision and technical expertise before venturing into indie and feature films.

Lopez is also the director of the indie horror film Binhi (The Seed), which garnered praise for its storytelling and cinematography.

One of the partners of post-production house WeLovePost and, now, the creative genius behind Haunted Tower Pictures.
